Our booth at the 40th Annual Phoenix Pride Festival was a major success!
This was the first festival celebrated in-person since 2019. There was a virtual event held in 2020, with some panels and live streamed performances. Now that restrictions have lifted, an estimated 50,000 people came to celebrate diversity and equality, while also honoring the truth of our history and culture. The Pride parade was held on Saturday morning, leading in to the celebration at the park. Performing acts such as Mya, The Neon Trees, Maribel Guardia, and Ginger Minj drew large crowds of attendees, and kept them dancing into the evening.
The Pride Festival was held on November 6 – 7, 2021 in Central Phoenix at Indian Steele Park.
Randall, our Program Manager, and Jo, the Director of Operations for IITAP were there both days to bring awareness to the program and raffle off a free registration for those who entered.
In total, we received over 40 entries! Winners were alerted today!
Hey everyone. Randall here.
The Pride Festival allowed me an opportunity to come face to face with the people I can most relate to – the LGBTQIA2+ community. It was an absolute honor to hear all of the experiences and stories that will always give the Rainbow Advocate and Educator Program the personal touch that sets us apart from other trainings. There were so many opportunities presented, areas where people need education, and I’m ready to tackle this project on a new, higher level. Thanks to everyone for sharing a part of you, and thanks to everyone who registered for the raffle! We will be in touch with you also!
Look for us soon at other events! Announcements will come in the future!
