The Rainbow Advocate and Educators programs is an affiliate of the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals. Better known as IITAP.

The Rainbow Advocate and Educator Program and IITAP is privileged in bringing together a unique group of professionals from a variety of backgrounds to develop and expand our programs. Whether they are working behind the scenes or in the forefront coordinating your training, our team is a well oiled machine in delivering a rewarding learning experience to our members. Dr. Stefanie Carnes

Dr. Stefanie Carnes

President of the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals

Stefanie Carnes, Ph.D., CSAT-S is the President of the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals, a training institute and professional organization specializing in addiction and trauma.  Dr. Carnes is a clinical sexologist, sex therapist and certified sex addiction therapist and has a passion for providing education and treatment that promotes healthy sexuality and relationships.  As a marriage and family therapist and AAMFT approved supervisor she brings her clinical expertise to her work as a senior fellow for Meadows Behavioral Healthcare where she works with clients struggling with compulsive and addictive sexual behavior and sexual trauma.  Dr. Carnes is the clinical architect for Willow House: Relationship Healing for Women struggling with sex, love and intimacy disorders, and works closely with the staff of Willow House and Gentle Path to bring her unique expertise to the programs and to aid the clients who suffer with intimacy and relationship disorders. 

She presents regularly at conferences at both the state and national levels. She is also the author of numerous publications including her books, Courageous Love: A couples Guide to Conquering Betrayal, Mending a Shattered Heart: A Guide for Partners of Sex Addicts, Facing Heartbreak: Steps to Recovery for Partners of Sex Addicts, and Facing Addiction: Starting Recovery from Alcohol and Drugs.

Jo Patton

Jo Patton

Director of Operations

Jo Patton joined IITAP in 2017 as our Director of Operations. Jo's professional background is in business operations and project management. She began her career in the USAF assigned to the Electronic Security Command as an Airborne Reconnaissance Communications Analyst. She lived abroad in Europe and Asia for most of her military career. Upon entering the civilian world, Jo expanded her skills and experience in the fields of information technology, telecommunications, supply chain management, marketing, event planning, contract administration, and project management.

In addition to successfully completing a host of military skill, knowledge and leadership academies, Jo graduated with A.A.S. through the Community College of the Air Force in 1988, became a Certified Paralegal through Phoenix Career College Bachelors Program in 2003, and in 2012 earned and maintains a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through the International Project Management Institute (PMI).

Jo is very personable. She has a positive outgoing attitude and believes in being firm, fair and having fun. She loves her family, dogs, cats and travel.

Randall McDaniel

Marketing and Special Projects Manager

Randall McDaniel started with IITAP in July 2020 as a Digital Media Coordinator and is now the Rainbow Program Community Manager.

His focus is editing, creative writing and social media networking, and he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Web Development at Colorado Technical University. Randall has hosted and ran his own social network that created a safe space for people in the LGBTQ+ community, and he also manages a foodie fanatics group on Facebook.

Randall calls Phoenix, AZ home, but that doesn’t stop him from travelling to various cities to “learn about the locals”. He loves to cook for every meal. He paints and works on his garden in his free time.

Amanda Leyrer

Program Development Manager

Amanda Leyrer joined IITAP in early 2017 as our Community & Event Specialist. Amanda hails from Milwaukee, WI where she developed her career in event planning and digital marketing. Throughout her career Amanda has learned the art of improvising, problem solving, and multi-tasking through a majority of experiences.

Amanda is proud and honored to be part of the IITAP community and looks forward to working and expanding the knowledge that IITAP has to share.

In her spare time Amanda loves to be with her nieces and nephews, travel, and do just about anything outdoors.

Jeannine Marmo joined IITAP in January 2020 as our Administrative Assistant. The IITAP community seems to be a great fit for Jeannine as she has worked with healthcare and insurance companies extensively. Jeannine has a strong attention to detail and prides herself on a high level of organization. She has a sincere desire to provide compassionate and strong levels of customer service. As a member of the IITAP team she is able to help not only our members but also members of the community looking for guidance.

David Petulla

David Petulla

Controller

David Petulla is an accomplished financial leader with a diverse record of achievements including over 30 years of accounting and financial experience. David has a proven track record of successful financial and accounting management in all aspects of financial operCations, reporting, mergers and acquisitions, treasury and banking, staff management and shareholder relations. His broad business background includes experience in several major industries including public company financial management at Algae Biosciences as Corporate Controller; cancer research and development at InNexus Biotechnology as CFO, media and advertising at Cross Media Works Inc., as Vice President/Controller; building materials and product manufacturing at Bonded Materials Company as the VP of Finance/Controller; and healthcare and nutraceutical products at Zila, Inc., a publicly held, international manufacturer as Director of Finance. He is currently the Controller for IITAP LLC, a training and certification provider to therapists.

David holds an MBA. in Finance and Information Systems from San Jose State University in San Jose, CA and a B.A. in Accounting and Finance from Baldwin-Wallace University in Berea, OH. Currently residing in Phoenix, AZ, he enjoys running every day with his 2 dogs and tries to play golf.

 

Colleen Zubrycki

Operations Manager

Colleen Zubrycki joined IITAP in 2018 as our Administrative Associate and is now serving in the role of Operations Manager. The IITAP community was a natural fit for Colleen as she has worked for professional associations since 2008. Her strengths include a keen attention to detail; creative problem solving skills; and a sincere desire to provide the best customer service possible.

In her spare time, Colleen loves hiking, going to concerts, and cheering on her favorite hockey and baseball teams.

Havi Kang

ITAP Consultant E-Learning Coordinator

Havi Kang is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). Havi currently works as a trauma therapist at The Claudia Black Center for Young Adults at The Meadows in Wickenburg, AZ. Havi is originally from London, U.K. and has been in the U.S. for 20 years. Havi’s background in the mental health field includes inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient. She has experience working with individuals, couples, and families dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, codependency, eating disorders, and personality disorders. Havi has volunteered at the 2018 and 2019 IITAP Symposiums. Havi has a strong work ethic and is passionate about the work she does.

 

 

Isabel Nino De Guzman

Isabel Nino De Guzman

CSAT-S, IITAP Consultant Curriculum & Research Specialist

Isabel Nino De Guzman, PhD, LP, CSAT-S, CMAT-S, is a licensed psychologist, registered on the Arizona Board registry of clinical supervisors, and a certified sex addiction therapist and supervisor. Her professional background includes being a tenured professor at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru, and 20 years of clinical experience as a licensed psychodynamic psychologist in Peru. She became part of the team that worked for Dr. Carnes at the University of Southern Mississippi conducting research on sex addiction, and completed the first study on sex addicts using latent cluster analysis, which unraveled unexpected configurations of comorbid disorders in such population.
Dr. De Guzman joined Gentle Path when the program was part of the Pine Grove system. Further, she completed two years of post-doctoral training at Hazelden in Minnesota where she solidified her expertise with multiple addictions. Dr. De Guzman currently works as a psychologist at Gentle Path at The Meadows, where she has implemented a comprehensive assessment process of patients that informs of the specific needs of each patient from a clinical perspective. Dr. De Guzman is a committed member of the Gentle Path team and has an important role in the management of comorbid conditions of patients at the program.
